Alison began playing the piano at the age of eight. Her early experiences with the piano continue to impact her teaching today.
"I enjoyed playing the piano, but I was not always motivated to practice. There were many days that I told my parents I wanted to quit taking lessons. However, my parents believed in the importance of music and recognized that I needed to continue developing discipline and perseverance They supported and encouraged me through all of the bumps in the road. As I continued to practice, I gradually began to love making music. Instead of telling me to practice, they had to ask me to stop practicing! I began to spend hours playing the piano every day. My experience taught me the importance of supportive parents and teachers who help their students achieve success at each stage in the learning process. I am grateful that my parents and teachers believed in me from the beginning. My hope is that each student who enters my studio will come to love music just as I did and develop the skills to enjoy music for a lifetime."
Alison lives in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband Collin and 5 year old son Noah. She enjoys homeschool Noah and spending time with family and friends.
