I am excited to be starting our fall semester of lessons! It has been wonderful to welcome students back to the studio and to be able to offer both in person and online lessons. For in person lessons, we are taking safety precautions like wearing masks, maintaining social distance, using hand sanitizer before and after each lesson, and frequently sanitizing the piano keys. We have found that online lessons can be just as successful as in person lessons and a great additional option during this time.
Students worked hard this summer polishing and recording their recital pieces. I'm thrilled to be able to share all their hard work with you in our recital video posted under the Media tab.
In addition to learning new music, we are focusing on theory this semester. Students are practicing note flashcards, memorizing the order of sharps and flats, learning to identify and write key signatures, and completing theory assignments at their level.
In October we will begin Christmas music! This is always a highlight of our year. Students will choose one or two Christmas pieces they have learned to record for our Christmas recital video in December.
It is a joy to continue to share music with my students! I'm thankful for each student and family, and I look forward to a wonderful semester.
